Synopsis
In a nutshell, there are 4 things that set the Clek Fllo (and the Foonf, for that matter) apart from the competition.
1. An anti-rebound bar
The Foonf and the Fllo both come with an anti-rebound bar for use in the rear-facing position. This is extremely hard to come by in convertible car seats in America (but is par for the course in Canada – go figure). The anti-rebound bar will prevent the head of the seat from flipping up and hitting the back of the seat of the car (what’s called “rebounding” in car seat mechanics) in a frontal or rear-impact collision.
2. Forever rear-facing
Clek seats make it sexy to rear-face forever, with extra tall seats that don’t eat into all of your precious leg room in the front seat. Not only does it have a 50-lb rear-facing weight limit, but the rear-facing shell height measurement is 26.5″, one of the tallest (if not THE tallest) on the market.
3. Amazing fabrics
This is a stylish seat, and the fabrics are top notch. They use Crypton Super Fabrics, which provide permanent protection against stains, moisture, and odor-causing bacteria. What’s more, they are one of the few car seats that is GreenGuard certified, and are free of brominated and chlorinated flame retardants.
4. Fits 3-across!
At 17″ wide, Clek seats are the narrowest on the market. Fitting 3-across means so much more to me than being able to fit 3 car seats in the back — it means we don’t have to drive minivans (or giant gas-guzzling SUVs) in order to fit a 3rd adult (or child’s friend) back there. This is huge for me, as I am currently on a mission to downsize from the ridiculous minivan that I drive (don’t get me started). With 2 Cleks for the girls, I am able to fit a 3rd person (or an extra car seat or booster seat) in the backseat of a midsize car. That’s a huge win.
Yes, people, these seats might be expensive, but they’re a lot cheaper than buying a large, ridiculous gas-guzzler!!
The big difference between the Foonf and the Fllo is that the Foonf has rigid LATCH connectors in the forward-facing position, which makes for a stupid-easy installation, whereas the Fllo has regular LATCH connectors.
Free yourself from the shackles of a minivan with the Clek Foonf and Fllo. They are super stylish, very tall, environmentally friendly, and extremely safe. Thank you to Clek for sending me this sample. I’m in love <3.
