BUY NOWPlease meet my friend: the Valco Baby Snap 4 Trend stroller. If you like the City Mini/B-Lively, prepare to have your mind BLOWN: the Valco Baby Snap 4 Trend stroller is similar, yet a few pounds lighter (say whaat?) — 15 lbs vs. ~18 lbs. A lesser-known and well-kept secret in the stroller world, it’s one of my favorites.
Valco Baby is originally out of Australia with operations in NYC. Popular in the Northeast (but little known in the South or West), Valco Baby initially made waves with their double and triple strollers. Now, they are bringing the thunder from down under with their lightweight and stylish single strollers.
Seat
The seat is wide and tall and even fit my exhausted 5-year-old (below) on a trip to Disney, though we were nearing the 45-lb weight limit.
It was perfect for my 2 (almost 3)-year-old. The seat comes with a gnaw-proof bumper bar and reclines fully for newborns.
Car Seat Compatibility
For infants, you can also purchase a separate car seat adapter for Maxi-Cosi Mico or Nuna Pipa.
The buckle is objectively toddlerproof and a unique feature of Valco Baby Strollers. It requires pushing the release whilst pushing downward on the buckles at the same time. It takes some practice, but I assure you no toddler will bust out of it.
Canopy, Braking, Storage, Accessories
The handlebar is adjustable with three height preferences.
The canopy is large and even has a 3rd zip-out panel for when the sun is low on the horizon. It’s comparable to that of the City Mini/B-Lively, which you know I love.
The storage basket is large and deep and will definitely hold a lot of STUFF. The only issue is that the opening isn’t super huge, although you can get a larger diaper bag in there by inserting it sideways. I found that the shoulder carry strap got in the way of the stroller basket opening, but you can lengthen or tighten it to get it out of the way. I had this thing packed to the brim at Disney — it held a lot!
The Valco Baby Snap 4 Trend stroller also comes standard with a mini organizer in the back, which zips onto the canopy. In it, you can put a bottle, a phone, and keys. It does not come with a cup holder, but you can buy one separately, which I always recommend.
The brake is an easy one-step brake that any pair of flip-flops can handle.
Wheels/Suspension
While not an all-terrain stroller, the 4EVA tubeless tires ride surprisingly well even over grass and brick. The steering and handling on this stroller is dreamy (for a NON all-terrain stroller, at least). In fact, the Snap 4 Trend glides forward with a certain airiness.
Folding & Carrying
The fold on this stroller is super easy—nay, downright snappy! Just press the fold/release button, squeeze the handlebar release and voila. It snaps down (and auto locks) VERY compactly so you can throw it into the smallest of trunks.
Note that the fold is not quite as convenient as the “seat fold” of the City Mini/B-Lively, which you can fold and carry away with one motion without having to bend over and pick it up off the ground.

It’s also very easy to carry down the stairs. Seriously y’all, it’s SO lightweight.

The Valco Baby Snap 4 Trend Stroller gives the City Minis and B-Livelys of the world a run for their money. It’s ideal for those who are looking for a full-featured stroller with the weight of a heavier umbrella stroller—especially for those who are looking for something a little different. Also? Perfect for travel.

I’m so glad you reviewed the Valco Snap. I’ve had it for about 8 months (my daughter is now 15 months old) and I LOVE this stroller. I also own an Uppababy Vista and a Cosatto Supa umbrella stroller for comparison.
If I could only have one stroller, I would choose this over my Uppababy Vista since it is way more practical. My Vista now sits in our garage and I use it for long walks, but the Snap stays in my car and I use it for shopping and travel.
I’ve never seen anyone else in the US with this stroller and that needs to change! It is SO MUCH BETTER than an umbrella stroller and weighs the same. The storage basket is huge, it is so easy to push, and it is so light. I also took this stroller to Disney and it was perfect for travel. It pushes very easily with one hand, which is the reason I wanted something other than an umbrella stroller.
Valco unfortunately doesn’t make an Uppababy Mesa car seat adapter, but I’ve found that the Mesa seat fits in the seat pretty snugly, so I could use this with her infant seat if we weren’t going over bumpy terrain. Perfect in the airport.
I use the Diono stroller caddy with the stroller and it works great for carrying a few drinks.

This *seems* to be the answer to all my prayers! I’m a FTM, and I’ve been looking for a LIGHTWEIGHT stroller/ car seat combo that will take me from infant to toddler (2-4 years for the stroller) and am thinking of the Mico AP with the Valco Snap. My only concern are the durability issues that some reviewers had on Amazon. I’d like to keep the whole thing under $500. Is there a better lightweight combo I’m not thinking about? Thank you!
In this same category is the City Mini, B-Agile 4. You could also check out the Babyhome Emotion, which is very lightweight but very petite, but also meant to be a do-everything stroller.
Boy am I glad to read your review. I’ve been searching and reading up, high and low since forever to select the perfect travel stroller for europe. I don’t have these strollers available where I live so I’m going to be asking somebody to get one for me from abroad.
I’ve been so confused between the maclaren techno, armadillo city and the city mini. But hope to find something more lightweight. Do you think this couldn’t be a good travel stroller and last us a while? And the tires are air filled? Could that be an issue during traveling if they go flat?
Yes, this is the perfect travel stroller and you don’t have to worry about pumping the tires or getting a flat — they are forever air.
